WHAT YOU NEED unsalted butter vanilla extract all-purpose flour quick oats light brown sugar baking powder kosher salt chocolate SunButter semisweet chocolate chips toffee bits
1. Brown the butter in a saucepan then pour into a measuring glass. 2. Mix in 2 tablespoons of water and vanilla extract. Place into the refrigerator to chill for about 15 minutes. 3. In the meantime, preheat the oven to 350F and grease and line an 8×8 square baking dish with parchment paper.
4. Then in a large mixing bowl, mix together the rest of the crumble ingredients with your hands (this helps break up any brown sugar lumps). 5. Once the butter has cooled (it can be warm but not piping hot), mix into the dry ingredients using a rubber spatula. 6. Press about 2/3 of the dough into the bottom of the baking dish. Bake for 8 minutes.
7. Once baked, spread the chocolate SunButter on top and sprinkle with a layer of chocolate chips then a layer of toffee bits. 8. Sprinkle the remaining crumble on top and bake for 20-23 minutes. 9. Allow the bars to cool completely either at room temperature or in the refrigerator. Then lift them out, slice, and enjoy!
