Description

This easy Candied Nuts recipe is the perfect holiday treat that everyone will love! Made with a mix of your favorite nuts and a generous amount of cinnamon and nutmeg these sweet and savory nuts are perfect for holiday gifting.ย

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups pecan halves
  • 2 1/2 cups dry roasted unsalted cashews
  • 1 cup dry roasted unsalted almonds
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (200g) light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp fresh grated nutmeg, or ground nutmeg
  • 2 tsp kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Add the nuts to a large bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg white, water, and vanilla. Pour this over the nuts and toss to coat.
  3. In small bowl, mix together the sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss to evenly coat the nuts.
  4. Add the nuts to the baking sheet and spread them even, don’t overcrowd. If your pan isn’t big enough, divide the nuts between two pans. Bake for 15 minutes, toss them, then bake for another 15.
  5. Let them cool in the pan before breaking them up. Store in an airtight container and enjoy! Theyโ€™ll last up to 10 days at room temperature.
